raiser segment. This is brought to you
by Printe and it's about PAMX 2026.
Uh, what we're going to try to do over
the next few minutes is look at the key
teams MSI technologies. Uh, and
part of this presentation is alongside
Sai who most wise, most wonderful and
the news editor at Print. Welcome.
>> Thank you.
>> Yeah. First the basics is going to start
from 27th to 30th Jan at NESCO grounds
correct in gau east in Mumbai
>> correct and I think in terms of the
numbers we have 500 exhibitors we have
about 800 machines but what is I think
truly exciting is you'll have something
like 250 product launches so that will
be presses post press softwares paper
grades you know materials so lots to
look out for come prepared wear
comfortable shoes with thick soles
>> the energy definitely seems electric
around fabric
>> and but we have compiled Q&A from around
say 50 industry leaders
>> and and companies and what what are the
absolute mustseas technologies that you
would say
>> well uh a lot but we'll just look at
about 20 to make this short and sweet so
that people can make their notes or pull
out your sort of notepad and start
jotting stuff down. Yes,
>> the focus is clearly on intelligent
automation and personalization.
uh and basically we have a list of 20
and we'll sort of break it down uh in
terms of innovations things that are
transforming print packaging and
publishing.
>> Nice. Okay. So let's dive right into the
heart of digital transformation world
[laughter]
>> and so what are the key digital print
innovations pushing the uh envelope for
commercial and say publishing printers
>> right so lots happening in the digital
space all the big daddies are going to
be there again what I'm just giving you
is a snapshot I'll be obviously missing
out a lot of names we can start off with
Fujifilm they have the rivero and it's
interesting because you'll have the
metallic inks but in addition you also
have the gold silver and white tone
technology which is very very
interesting.
>> Uh basically special effects for luxury
prints as you know a lot of
embellishment you were there for the
print week awards you saw what was
happening in that space. Uh where things
are really taking off is inkjet uh pod
book printing. So you have a company
called Credwin with their Digimax
series. uh they are going to be
achieving I think massive uh
productivities with almost one lakh A4
impressions which is significant because
the cost uh etc is you know matching up
and also what they're achieving is the
number of impressions per hour
>> uh then you have KM they have there with
a big stall and they have the MGI which
is basically the Acuro shine 3,600 with
the eye foil basically what it does is a
kind of UV spot varnish and foiling and
again embellishment is you know the the
the name of the game. We're just looking
at some data that's come in, you know,
in terms of wedding spends and spends
for festivities. So, this is the space
where all these embellishments catch up
with rigid boxes, uh, stationary, uh,
gifting, uh, that kind of stuff. Yeah.
>> Okay. That's absolutely phenomenal.
Front end actually. And what about the
next gen and converting like this is
where precision meets speed, right?
That's true. So, what are this also
space that I think a lot of our
factories have evolved? I mean
traditionally the focus has been on
print. Now it has obviously gone uh way
ahead and one of the keys in this is
keep is the automation. So if you look
at labels I mean label expose just
transpired and we did that massive you
know bunch of reports.
>> Again a few things you have the new
print solutions from Oraut which is
basically an AA digital label finisher.
The the key is again you know the
ability to provide dialist kind of work.
So that is number one. Uh so two things
happen. One is you're uh drastically
reducing setup time and you're also in
packaging. We have something by droo and
bind. It's a global launch which is
again so we'll have a few launches at
page which is again interesting. Day one
and day two in that sense will be busy.
So the magnab is basically provides you
a lay flat book uh which is again fully
automatic and as you saw at the awards
the photo book production which is again
a significant sort of business that will
be uh sort of produced on the magnabite.
Then you have SHCGS which is the hydrip
master the UV coating machine again
extremely interesting for spot UV drip
offs etc. uh and then of course rigid
boxes your smartphone industry is taking
off and obviously you need so zon is
there as usual with a big stall and uh
intelligent rigid box machine solution.
So again everything will be fully in
line uh automated and of course
providing the you know the cutting edge
in rigid box packaging.
>> It seems like the factory floor is only
getting smarter than this and so in that
sense what is what are the big
developments in industry 4.0 and
AIdriven workflow.
>> So I think again definitions of all
these things need to be relooked at but
the intelligence quotient in the factory
flow is changing.
So three I think companies we can look
at again there are many but we are
looking at three since the CRP is
showcasing a visual proof and poker yoke
automation. So basically what they're
aiming to do is zero error. I mean
that's the crux of many things. uh then
you have somebody something from indis
analytics uh they have an AI powered
indisprint ERP so it's a custom app
ecosystem uh and again it allows
businesses to have role specific tools
so again that's the interesting thing
and then camorei has of course got
something which is cloud-based and
connected
>> um so again when you're having all these
sheet presses running at those speeds
and complex jobs the the idea is to have
something which can provide real-time
data
>> uh so a lot of these things are there
and the interesting thing is the
business owner or the production manager
can have access to that data basically
it means that you can sort of bring the
two worlds together your planning and
you know monitoring of the whole thing
that degree of efficiency is there which
is again fabulous I think in our time as
we like to say these things were not
there it was difficult you have to do
everything you know analog
>> now with this growth with the digital
growth this also brings out the next key
challenge which is like security
traceability and uh things like that So
uh what are the key systems addressing
this
>> right? So again many companies so
monotech the chennai based monotech they
have something interesting called trac
track traces key max I think I'm getting
the name incorrect but razer 6 which
offers end to end serialization and
track and trace solution. So this is
basically for compliance and brand
protection which has now become a big
concern in India. I mean again the kind
of data that we hearing 15%
counterfeiting 30% in certain sectors
etc.
uh then SP cards is introducing
something called dualtech smart ID
cards. It's basically UF and NFC for
dual duplication compatibility and then
they have these bio PVC option. Okay,
>> which is again kind of uh interesting
and what's happening is it's all high
speed and it's with a lot of variable
data. So that's again something and then
there's M V track system integra again
the name is very very complicated but
it's basically a thermal printer. Uh and
then it's a question of what height it
is. So I think it's about 108 mm height
>> and at 180 m per minute. So again it's
uh interesting because you can do over
prints and all that.
>> Understood. Yeah. But sustainability
remains mega trend like even for the bio
PVP thing that you had mentioned like it
is it is uh it's not a buzz word at
least. And so what are the innovation
setting new benchmarks in this area like
with eco-friendly substrates or surface
treatment and chemistry? again vast
topic and I'm sure we'll probably do
another session only on sustainability
maybe we just do a series but materials
processes uh I mean you were there for
the breakfast briefing you saw the kind
of conversations that were happening in
terms of factories etc but environmental
impact etc so Java who's basically uh
looks at um you know paper and paper
board uh they are highlighting ITC cyber
oak duo is basically a all brown virgin
board with superior stiffness and then
For converters there's something called
true colors digital corrugation box
printer again basically waterbased
inkjet technology okay so a lot of
waterbased which I think we'll see the
key is whether how much of this can be
rolled out in terms of commercial
application and then what are the things
you can do and then again there's a
company called LTE engineers which has
got an atmospheric plasma
uh they are offering a new way to
activate challenging substrate so the
key in all this is I think material
science and how quickly you can crack
material I think then everything else
follows.
>> Yeah.
>> Um I suppose then there's GW of course I
I can't forget that they have something
called the Oxygard and dose guard
systems for oxygen control and UV dose
scanning for low migration application.
Uh you I mean GW's of course been there
in the lamp space and energy efficiency
for eons and they've just been tweaking
their system as they've been going along
and you can see how much you know
they've been adding value to the whole
process.
>> Yeah. [snorts] M
>> finally Rau let's talk about cure power
like press performance hybrid technology
and efficiency what are the things to
watch out for
>> Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma [laughter]
so the focus is basically on hybrid high
speeded high efficiency system that
sounds like a lot of jargon but you have
companies and I think we did you know
write about it quite a lot during our
label expo coverage so webex got this
nine color flexo which is again with one
gravio hybrid so that's interesting
because then the combination make sure
that you can do multiple things alcov
and you know play with that and the
interesting thing is microprint
formatting so basically you merge two
processes on one machine and we are
seeing a roll out of this and many many
many things again we can probably
dedicate an entire section for that uh
then for curing there's news they've
been traditionally in the newspaper
space but they have something
interesting with hybrid UV curing system
40% energy savings so again uh you know
new tech for some of our viewers they
done a lot of very extraordinary thing
when the whole shift was happening with
cold set inks for newspapers. So to be
able to produce that kind of thing and
then finally to sort of culminate our 20
we have Creopile. I think we have
something called foil printing
technology basically a step and repeat
process. So it's again what the key in
this is again to you know your earlier
point smart automation tool. Yeah again
foiling can be very cumbersome and you
know it can be tricky. Uh so to be able
to uh ensure repeatability and to
minimize the wastage.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Because they're expensive.
So yeah,
>> that's quite a bit.
>> That's like a powerful innovation. Thank
you for that. Thank you very and it's
very clear at this point that it's going
to be a show that's defined by uh
precision,
>> intelligence, sustainable automation and
uh many more things like that which
probably uh will be surprises for us.
>> And I think before we carry on one thing
we should mention this is just the the
starting point. There are we are talking
of you know 500 eggs. Yeah. No, no, no.
We know a lot more, but this is just
enough to start your basic homework with
and then of course you build on this.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. This will probably
keep you busy for maybe 2 days and then
the other two days you can do your other
stuff. Yeah.
>> Yeah.

>> Yeah. So, the key is that of course that
these technologies are going to you know
I mean there's going to be massive
amounts of investments which are going
to happen. I think most of the big
announcements will happen on day one and
day two. Uh so I I I mean a polite
request to all of you is come prepared
because your competition and your
competitors are doing that. They'll be
coming prepared, making notes and doing
their homework. So do the due diligence.
Talk to your sort of consultants and
investors and experts and then come to
PAMX. Yes.

>> What is the print stream?
>> It's basically a channel and a YouTube
live kind of a thing. And if you can
tune into it, it will exclusively

past, if I'm uh you know, memory serves
me, right? We used to do e- bulletins.
Yes,
>> we used to do breaking news again only
on the website and we used to do these
big interviews you know with the
editorial team. They do but that was
mainly confined to uh the digital
platform. So this is a big step in terms
of video because it means we can do big
interviews, we can do video podcasts
with the technocrats and the CEOs of
companies. We can also probably do open
houses and you know factory visits if
need be. That's amazing. So lots and
lots of conversations. So it feels that
the universe which is not at print uh at
Pame can also be you know part of this
entire PAM experience which is just a
fantastic way.

>> Yes.
